The New Australian Dream Home

This property is one we haven’t followed through its building process, but as inspiration goes – it’s packed to the rafters!  We are thrilled to have various examples of our product throughout this truly beautiful home built by King Homes NSW.

The property perfectly encapsulates the new Australian dream – a suburban block that is large enough for a growing family, with a bush setting that is also close to amenities.  This house has it all and is the modern family home – redefined.

The project was built on a 1035 sqm block of land which has views onto open bushland at the back.  The house was designed with maximising these views in mind, whilst building a workable modern family home with a touch of luxury.  By using suitable products from our range it has managed to make the most of these views, while taking into consideration the energy efficiency implications and these have all been engineered to adhere to the clients wishes. It also needed to suit a growing family and be low maintenance.

Well, it certainly looks the part!  Made from a mix of CSR Hebel and Colorbond sheeting, the design is modern and intricate with every angle specifically designed to maximise energy efficiency, views and impact.

The huge wall of views and light at the back is a mix of 300 series stacking sliding doors, fixed panel windows and 200 series French doors.  The client wanted light flooding this area and with a two-storey design, this has been achieved.  The Windows were all also installed with thermo-glass protecting the inside from the extra heat the expansive glass area would have produced, whilst also helping lower costs by being more energy efficient.

A high-level attention to detail is evident throughout this home with custom joinery adding in clever storage solutions which finish the home off nicely without too much furniture. In particular, the mudroom leading off the garage proved to be a useful storage area for a growing family to leave their bags, coats and shoes out of sight before entering the home.

The kitchen continues the modern monochrome theme which has been designed with plentiful of storage featuring a cellar, bi-fold breakfast area, integrated appliances and walk in pantry. The five-metre curved kitchen island provides plenty of space to entertain or simply enjoy a meal with the family whilst also being easy to maintain and clean given it’s engineered stone.

As you approach the property you can clearly see the clients took great care in selecting the right windows and doors for this home.  They specifically wanted aluminium windows to suit other materials used in the design of this home.

The Butt-joint feature window on the entry into the property was chosen specifically as a design feature, as was the large square window in the front that now perfectly frames a feature piece of artwork in the home. This is a perfect partner for the wide entry which has a simple yet striking front door with a custom-made round door handle.

The key to all the window choices was aesthetic and usability. The windows and doors were all ordered in black to match internal features but yet contrast with monument cladding on the exterior of the home.  This extenuated the angles and different shapes of the home and gives it distinction and architectural flair.

The client also decided on Southern Star 200 series awning windows for the majority of the home wanting to take advantage of the benefits including the good ventilation in wet areas and consistent design inside and outside.

Part of the brief from our client was to have a consistent colour scheme which flowed from the outside into the interior whilst also being low maintenance.

The use of two colours was used to highlight the different shapes and angles of the home facade design. In particular, the counter lever at the front hangs slightly over and contrasts against the Vivid White acrylic render showing the true workmanship & skill in building this home.

Inside, they used Dulux White on White on all walls to provide clean lines which is paired perfectly with Polytec Black Woodmatt cabinetry and Talostone Super White engineered stone in most areas of the home.

This project has been meticulously designed, from the use of materials to the energy efficiency once complete.  The home perfectly fits the brief, managing to provide a family home that is low maintenance yet striking and beautiful to look at.  The windows, doors, internal colours and interior selections and have all been used with the overall product in mind, taking into consideration colour schemes, energy efficiency and how the end result will serve the client.  The result has been an outstanding build. Quite simply put, the home is ‘a beautiful modern family home’.
